We feel STRONGLY about giving unsigned artists a chance
We at DFM feel strongly about giving unsigned artists a great venue to air their musical creations and allowing people the opportunity to record their work in order to get more recognition. None of this is possible without your help, please donate as much or as little as you can afford, our first goal is to set up and maintain an online radio presence [give_goal id=”4575″ show_text=”true” show_bar=”true”]
Mission Statement
To offer a place for ANYONE to present a show, either on a regular basis or as a one off.
To allow unsigned artists to have their music played at least once on the station, excluding expletives.
To give unsigned artists a place to play live on air, when the studio is established.
To give fair airing of all adverts and sponsors.
Open up training opportunities in the radio and OB sectors.
Offer artists a subsidy to help record their album.
Create free outside broadcastsfor people to attend.
Extend to college taster session both on and off air.
12 Month Plan
- An established 24/7 internet radio station
- A functional management team with as well as the Trustees, Commercial manager, admin manager, artist liason managers, Station Manager
- Artist liaison board, to meet every 3 months to discuss unsigned artists requirements
- A database of at least 600 unsigned artists, with a max turnaround on submissions of 7 days
- A database of around 20 volunteers for regular shows, all applicants will have at least 1 show
- All policies to be in place, Communications, Equal Ops, On Air, Grievance, Disciplinary, Code of Conduct, Health and safety, Whistle Blowing
- To provide a non profit service for venues to find a suitable artist / band (a kind of agency to help artists get to more venues)
36 Month plan
- An established 24/7 station with at least one permanent studio and 1 coffee shop and gift shop
- A functional management team with paid staff as well as the Trustees, Studio manager, studio hand, Commercial manager, admin manager, artist liason managers, coffee shop manager
- A database of at least 1500 unsigned artists
- A database of around 70 volunteers for shows
- A live lounge in at least one studio/coffee shop
- At least 1 FM trial
- At least one outside broadcast / festival / unsigned festival
- 4 fundraising events per year to enable more coffee shops/studios to open around the country.
- Minimum of 2 live performances per week in the studio/coffee shop
60 Month Plan
- An established 24/7 station with at least two permanent studios/coffee shops
- An annual DFM awards ceremony / artist conference
- A functional management team with paid staff as well as the Trustees, Studio manager, studio hand, Commercial manager, admin manager, artist liason managers
- A database of at least 3000 unsigned artists
- A database of around 70 volunteers for shows
- At least 1 FM frequency
- A live lounge in at least one studio/coffee shop
- Tour company
- At least one outside broadcast / festival / unsigned festival
- Apprentice opportunities
